Rasayana Cove welcomes groups who wish to meet in Florida's pristine nature. We are located beside a wilderness creek that feeds the Peace River. The 25-acre property stands privately at the end of a country road in central Florida, surrounded by orange groves and ranchlands with no visible neighboring residences. The retreat is a sanctuary of peace in nature. One hour east of Sarasota, we are within a few hours drive from Tampa, Fort Myers, Naples, Orlando, and Miami.
Yoga groups, meditation groups, women's retreats, shamanic gatherings, workshops, artist retreats, and healing retreats all find the environment here at Rasayana Cove conducive to a journey of inner healing. Groups may wish to come for a day retreat or for a series of days. There are a number of buildings where 6 to 10 guests may stay varying from rustic charm in the woods to more modern accommodations with air conditioning. Food can be arranged by Rasayana Cove or provided by the group in the kitchen of one of the cabins.
Rasayana Cove has operated as a private Ayurvedic treatment center since 1994. We celebrate the fundamental essence of life with the presence of earth, water, fire, air and space that is so present on this land. Oak forests bid us to retreat, the flowing waters offer a place of cleansing, our fire dhuni invites ritual with fire, and the spacious Florida savannah gives people open space to feel solace in the soul. We invite group leaders to celebrate with us and share this sanctuary with their students. Our only requirement is that you respect the intent of this retreat by abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and other drugs.
We arrange each detail with the group leader to meet your specific requirements. Please view the slideshow at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1WiJwURbic to see the property and call us for details.
Named for Vastu architecture from India and its resemblance to an Eastern temple this is the main house at Rasayana Cove. It is the primary residence of the owners, Julia and Dinesh Mader, who designed it to suit the Florida climate. The spacious cupola offers sleeping accommodation for groups during workshops and group retreats. A large oak dining table welcomes all participants to share Ayurvedic meals together. The house is surrounded by a wrap around verandah - a relaxing place to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
Located in the shelter of an oak hammock, this is the original house of the property. It stands 5 feet above the ground with a 12' wide porch surrounding it to allow for a panoramic view of the fields and pond. Horse Creek flows nearby so water fowl are often visible. The cabin can sleep two people on a full bed plus two more in twin loft beds. It is supplied with a full kitchen so that occupants may cook their own meals if they wish. This is an ideal cabin for a meditation retreat with or without Ayurvedic treatments.
Waterview cabin for two overlooks a private spring-fed pond adorned with water lilies. Handcrafted with antique pine flooring and Florida cypress siding, there is a fully equipped kitchenette and a treatment room, as well as a private deck beside a gurgling stream. The cabin has two twin beds that can be joined together to make a full bed. The wood deck is large enough for two people to practice yoga and our guests enjoy meals at the outdoor table. This cabin is nestled under an old oak tree that provides shade while allowing a panoramic view of the meadow and lily pond. At this cabin full electricity is provided so air conditioning is available as well as all the comforts of home.
This cabin is nestled under an aged oak hammock with breathtaking resurrection ferns growing on the oak branches. It is ideal for one person to retreat in solitude with only the sounds of birds and nearby cows. A small bedroom opens to an interior porch. A large wooden deck with benches overlooks the woods and offers a space for our clients to rest in total privacy. Those seeking an opportunity to meditate in quiet would find this cabin the perfect retreat. For aesthetic and environmental reasons, all electrical power at this end of Rasayana Cove is harvested directly from the Florida sunshine.
